Rooms Festival 2024
From the series: “Les petits pois sont verts… Les petits poissons rouges; a set of dresses designed in collaboration with @adrianagonzalezhulshof and fabricated in haute couture by @atelier_caraco
Inspired by “Quad” A short television play by Samuel Beckett, written and first produced and broadcast in 1981, Flowing Sand Slogans takes Beckett’s sequence of movements as its primary structure:
Four dancers move counter-clockwise on the sides of the square once. After that they go to the center, making a clockwise semicircle move toward each respective opposite angles, thereby repeating the counter-clockwise move on the sides. After completing one cycle of four moves…
From the meeting of the 4 characters (in this case dresses-vitrals) at the center of the stage, a new choreography inspired by Art-Deco, organic architecture and the mechanization of movements based on geometric figures begins. The slogans to be represented seek to transfer the visual transparency, the propagation of light and the design of the dresses in a sort of catwalk of fluid geometries and disjointed mechanisms.
