It offers a parody of the art world’s excessive claims and political agendas. Sporting a somber suit, a colorfully-masked middle-aged “public intellectual” delivers a monologue about the object and its social implications on camera. A mirror behind him offers a sideways view onto his masked acolytes’ reactions to his soliloquy on economic policies, class struggle, and the production and circulation of new identities.
